Only two and a half years after launching with a couple of their own designs and one emerging designer, Catapult Design have expanded their footprint, taking their representation of Australian designers into Queensland and the ACT.
From February, Sydney-based Greg Remy will begin representing the Catapult collection in these two centres, regularly travelling to Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Canberra (and other centres when required) to facilitate the entry into this market. Remy takes on this expanded role less than a year after beginning with Catapult Design.
‘Our desire has always been to expand Catapult from its Sydney base to other areas around the country,’ said Catapult co-founder and director Leigh Johnson. ‘Queensland and the ACT are the logical next steps to continue growing the exposure for our emerging and established designers. Each represent strong markets where many of our designers and their designs haven’t, we feel, been properly exposed, and we’re very excited to be able to help their development in this way.’
Catapult will be taking their roster of talent, including André Hnatojko, recently showcased at Dubai Design Week, and Barbera Design, amongst others, in this expansion. After successfully introducing many new and emerging designers into the New South Wales market,Catapult are also looking forward to continuing this tradition to the north and the nation’s capital.
‘Australia has some incredibly strong designers, and working with them over the last couple of years has been a real highlight of setting up Catapult,’ continued Johnson. ‘We’re sure that helping to continue growing their presence in these new markets will bring new challenges and successes to their practice, and to our own.’
Catapult Design are currently planning appointments with Queensland and ACT–based interior designers and architects. For more information or to book an appointment, please email Greg Remy.
